Step outside the cottage to the deer park and the splendid facade of Hopetoun House comes into view.

Mid Lodge operates week only stays with the change over day being on a Friday.

Mid Lodge is newly refurbished to a standard and quality in keeping with Hopetoun.

The accommodation is very spacious, yet comfortable and convenient with sitting room, dining-kitchen and three double bedrooms, one of which has an ensuite shower room.

  • Unfortunately there is no public transport to Mid Lodge but if you follow these directions you should find it easily.

From Edinburgh: Head towards the Forth Road Bridge (A90). Take the last slip road before the bridge (A904, South Queensferry) up to the Echline roundabout. Turn left (1st exit) past McDonalds and BP garage. Follow the road until you reach Newton and drive through. Take the first right after the petrol station on to Abercorn Road. Follow the road for ½ a mile until you reach an opening in the wall to the right and go through the electric gate (code 4562) into the Deer Park. The cottage is sitting over on the left hand side.

From the North: Head towards the Forth Road bridge. Once over the Forth Road bridge take first slip road to South Queensferry, turn right at the roundabout taking the third exit and follow the directions above (from Edinburgh)

From the South: Take the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass to the junction with the M9. Head west to Junction 2 and then bear north towards the ‘Newbridge Roundabout’. Take the M9 and at junction 1a, follow signs for the Forth Road Bridge and follow directions as above (from Edinburgh).

From the West: Take the M8 from Glasgow. At junction 2 head north towards the ‘Newbridge roundabout’. Follow directions as detailed above (from Edinburgh).

From the M9 Stirling: Exit M9 at junction 2, for the Forth Road Bridge (A904). Take the left turning at the end of slip road, then right leading onto A904. Follow this road for approx 2 miles and turn left into Abercorn Road just before you go through the village of Newton. Follow directions as above (from Edinburgh).
