Terms and Conditions

In order to ensure the smooth running of the competition, there are a few Terms and Conditions which you must agree to in order to take part. These are designed to ensure that the competition is operated in a way which is fair to all participants, as well as to ensure that Visit West Lothian (the promoter) is able to use the winning image for the intended purpose of the competition.

Pictures should be submitted via the entry form on the Visit West Lothian website.
Pictures should be of a high enough resolution to be used clearly on the front cover of the guide
The image submitted must have been taken within West Lothian, showing a publicly accessible venue or location.
This competition is open to UK residents only.
You must provide your name, address, age, telephone number and email details if you wish to enter upon request to enter this competition. These details will only be held in order to contact you regarding the operation of the competition and not for any other purpose.
A maximum of one entry will be accepted per person.
For the purpose of the competition, the owner of the winning photograph, as well as the runner-up if they wish to have their image featured, must provide Visit West Lothian with the right to publish the photograph online and in print media as required.
The deadline for receiving entries is Friday 28th February at 16.00.
The winning entry will feature on the front cover of the 2020/21 Visit West Lothian Visitor Guide.
The judging panel will be chosen by Visit West Lothian, and the judges' decision is final.
By entering the competition you agree to your name being published in relation to your photograph online and in other media in order to promote it.
Your entry must be entirely your own original work.
If your photograph features any recognisable person or people, permission should be obtained for the image to be entered in the competition and to be published online and in all media as required. Written permission from each recognisable person (or their parents/guardians if under 16) should be submitted for each entry.
This competition is not open to any friends or families of those working on behalf of Visit West Lothian.
Visit West Lothian reserves the right to cancel this competition at any stage.
You have the right to withdraw your entry from the competition at any time. In order to do this, please contact info@visitwestlothian.co.uk.
Any personal details gathered during the running of this competition will be only used for this purpose, in compliance with the Visit West Lothian privacy policy. This is available to view here: https://visitwestlothian.co.uk/privacy-policy/
If a winning entrant is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made to do so, the prize may then be presented to the second best entry – as chosen by Visit West Lothian.
Visit West Lothian reserves the right to disqualify any entry which breaches any of these rules or to withhold a prize if in its opinion entries do not reach the required standard. In such an instance, the second best entrant would be awarded the prize.
