Press Release: The centres kick start Christmas with a bang!
Tens of thousands of shoppers’ turned out to attend a fun filled family day climaxing in an explosive fireworks display at the weekend.
The Centre and Livingston Designer Outlet teamed up to kick start the festive season with an assortment of activities including a carousel, a tea cup ride, a play bus, a giant slide, and a climbing wall.
Inside each centre kids enjoyed balloon modelling, face painting and craft workshops.
Up-and-coming boy band Supernova serenaded the crowds who flocked to The Avenue to enjoy their Livingston debut.
Following the performance, Santa joined the group and set off the fireworks which lit up The Avenue in a finale.
James Bailey, Centre Director at The Centre, Livingston, said: “I am delighted with the success of this year’s event. The atmosphere in the malls and in The Avenue was electric and everyone looked like they were having an amazing time. Inside the mall we had an assortment of activities including the West Lothian wind Ensemble which was amazing.
“The Centre went through an exciting festive transformation and we unveiled our lovely new lights, decorations and silver Christmas tree.”
Karen Stewart, Centre Manager at the Livingston Designer Outlet, added: ”It was great to welcome so many happy faces to our Christmas event on Saturday.
“Working alongside The Centre, enabled us to go above and beyond to provide an activity packed schedule including a Santa Parade in both centres, all free of charge.
“Once again we have kicked off the festive season in the town and we look forward to continuing to make Christmas magical for children and adults visiting the centres. ”
The event took place at The Avenue between both centres on Saturday. The road running through The Avenue was closed and designated to pedestrians.
All activities were free of charge; and donations will be donated to River Kids and St John’s Hospital.
