West Lothian won’t disappoint this Halloween, with spine-tingling history and spooky goings on.

Almond Valley is giving families of all ages the chance to have a thrilling time this Halloween. Friday Fright Night, 25 October, will see visitors being welcomed into the heritage centre after dark for a moonlight trail and a ghost train embarking on a mysterious journey! If you’re looking to get involved in some creepy crafts, gruesome games and a treasure hunt with a twist, visit Almond Valley for some family friendly Spooky Happenings from 12 October.

For those who are feeling particularly brave this Halloween, why not see how long you can last at Linlithgow Palace’s Fright Night! Ghouls and ghosts will emerge from the shadows to re-live gruesome events in the history of the Palace, 25 & 26 October and 1 & 2 November. See if you encounter the ‘Blue Lady’ or the ghost of James V… Please note this night is not suitable for children, or for the faint-hearted!

Treat your children to a homemade twist on Halloween this year, with lantern and broom making workshops in West Lothian. Help your child make their very own lantern at Beecraigs or Almondell & Calderwood Country Park, 23 or 25 October, ready to be proudly displayed on your doorstep on Hallows Eve. Whether your child wants to dress up as a witch or just loves Harry Potter, visit Polkemmet or Beecraigs Country Park on the 26 or 27 October to help them create their very own Halloween broom!

Howden Park Centre is hosting a Children’s Halloween Disco, before dark! Children can come along in fancy dress and take part in the creepy parade, 12.30 – 3pm Sunday 27 October.

For the outdoors loving families, take a trip to Beecraigs Country Park on Halloween and join the Rangers on their Spooky Halloween Walk! Make sure to wrap up warm and bring a torch - you never know what might appear...

Those with a love for shows can head to the Bathgate Regal Theatre on Friday 25 October to witness spooktacular burlesque Vaudevillesque show, guaranteed to send shivers down your spine! The show sees international burlesque star Daiquiri Dusk join cabaret, sorcery and circus talent for an evening of eerie fun!

There is something on for everyone in West Lothian this Halloween….the question is, are you brave enough?
