Visit West Lothian continues to showcase West Lothian as a central destination for tourism as it attends trade shows; Best of Britain and Ireland and VisitScotland Expo.

Visit West Lothian travelled to Birmingham in March to attend Best of Britain and Ireland, the UK’s premier annual trade show for domestic tourism.

The event took place at the NEC and hosted tourism, business event and agency professionals from across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The visit proved to be a great success as Visit West Lothian met with key influencers from the travel industry.

Following the success of last year’s event the team from Visit West Lothian attended VisitScotland Expo which took place at the SECC Glasgow on the 2-3 April. Expo brings together the best of Scottish tourism, and provided Visit West Lothian with the opportunity to present the rich history and impressively diverse tourism offerings available.

The team at Visit West Lothian was joined by representatives from some of the main attractions in the area, including the Livingston Designer Outlet and Hopetoun House. With over 250 exhibitors and 500 international buyers in attendance each year, Expo was the perfect place to highlight the vast attractions West Lothian has to offer tourists, from historical sights to fun family days out.

As part of their ongoing tourism drive, Visit West Lothian has also teamed up with East- and Mid Lothian to apply for the VisitScotland Growth Fund. Building on the success of last year’s funding, Visit West Lothian is working together with the Lothians to host a 3 day Lothians Familiarisation Visit which will took place last weekend.
