2015 Summer Fun
In West Lothian this summer there is plenty for all the family, the Gillespie Macandrew Hopetoun Horse Trials are taking place at Hopetoun House and Estate from 26th to 28th June. There is more equine action at the Jousting at Linlithgow Palace on 4th and 5th July. Scotch Hop is also at Linlithgow Palace on 15th, 22nd & 29th July, 5th & 12th August and Party at the Palace is back on the 8th and 9th August. Also in Linlithgow, visit the Canal Centre for their annual Fun Day on 16th August, the highlight of the afternoon is the Cardboard Boat Race.
Whilst in Linlithgow why not enjoy the impeccable service at the Linlithgow Burgh Hall's Café. This is the ideal place for you to meet your friends whether it is for morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea or indeed all three! Eat and drink on the wonderful outdoor terrace, then have a stroll around the town.
If you like great food in a relaxed, picturesque setting, why not try the Hopetoun Farm Grill located at the Farm Shop, it is open from 19th June until 30th August serving freshly grilled produce from the estate plus weekly themes, including American style pulled meats week and BBQ week.
In addition to the many events taking place in West Lothian why not have a day out at the various great attractions including, Almond Valley Heritage Centre for Dibbles and Nibbles – a selection of garden and food related activities, Five Sisters Zoo to visit over 170 different species of animal, The Scottish Owl Centre and have a day in Polkemmet Park, combining the Owl Centre’s spectacular flying displays and other park activities such as adventure playground, 9-hole golf course, golf driving range, bowling green, woodland walks and cafe.
