West Lothian always has something going on, whether it's festivals, arts or nature walks, there is something for everyone.

Visit West Lothian have come up with a what's on list of some of the fabulous events and activities going on throught West Lothian in September! 

Thursday 1st - Sunday 4th September:

Bathgate Music Festival

Bathgate Music Festival is a celebration of all styles of music and it takes place across a number of different venues in Bathgate including the Regal Community Theatre, in pubs, clubs, restaurants, on the street and in schools.

Friday 2nd September:

A Night at the Musicals - Bathgate Regal Theatre

If last night you dreamed a dream that you defied gravity with Sandra Dee – it could be a sign you’re in need of a wee bit of musical magic. Enjoy the very best songs from musical theatre, straight from Broadway and the West End.

Saturday 3rd September:

Simple Minded - Howden Park Centre

If you're a lover of 80s rock, you will love this! Performing the greatest  hits and more from Scotland's own Simple Minds, Simple Minded are as close to the real thing as it is possible to be.

Bing Blazer: Park Life

The first ever Bing Blazer Park Life which is taking place in Beecraigs Country Park! Whether you are taking part in the physically and mentally challenging event or are just going along to cheer, it is sure to be a great day!

Saturday 3rd September - Saturday 10th September:

WAT IF? Heritage Festival

WAT IF? Community Trust is holding a Heritage Festival in nearby South Lanarkshire. Running from Saturday 3rd September and finishing with a fun day on Saturday 10th September, this is sure to be a week of fun for all the family!

Thursday 7th - Sunday 11th September:

Linlithgow Folk Festival

This fantastic annual Festival will take place with the usual eclectic mix of traditional music, dance and song! Set in different venues around Linlithgow, the Festival is crammed pack with quality folk music

Saturday 10th September:

Star Trek Screening

An historic Star Trek screening at Linlithgow Palace will take place on Saturday, 10th September to celebrate the town’s links to Montgomery “Scotty” Scott on the 50th anniversary of the science fiction franchise.

Wednesday 21st September:

Autumn Wander - Hopetoun

Join in with West Lothian walking week and enjoy this ranger led walk taking in interesting corners of Hopetoun. Enjoy the views over the Forth and the seasonal changes of the historic landscape of Hopetoun House.

Friday 23rd September:

Aly Bain & Phil Cunningham: Le Grand Anniversaire

Together Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham have established themselves as the epitome of excellence in the world of traditional music. With their musical magic and quick witted humour they will pull your emotional strings one moment and have you falling off your seat laughing the next!

Sunday 25th September:

Grounds Walk - Hopetoun

Taking place on the last Sunday of the month, the ranger led walk will lead you through the nature and history of Hopetoun's designed landscape and aims to complement the tour offered inside of the House. Look out for the wildlife whilst enjoying the specimen trees and plants of the designed landscape. This grounds walk is the last of the 2016 season.

Days throughout September:

West Lothian Open Doors Day

Organised by the Linlithgow Civic Trust, Doors Open Days is an entirely free event for the public, offering unique experiences, great days out and new pespectives on buildings and shared spaces.  With three new buildings being added to the programme this year, there's always something exciting to see.
