Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, the only thing better is a Christmas in West Lothian. This December we have a whole host of amazing events taking place right throughout the region. From Santa’s workshops to wreath making there will be something for everyone to enjoy!

Shopping

There is nothing more fulfilling than buying that perfect present for that someone special.

The annual Hopetoun Christmas Shopping Fair is back on the 1 – 3 and is a must visit for those wanting to soak up the Christmas festive spirit whilst finding unique gifts for special friends and family members. Whilst there why not check out Scotland’s finest stately home, Hopetoun House, and make sure not to miss the State Dining Room which will be decorated fabulously for Christmas.

On the 2 – 3 why not pay a visit to the spectacular Jupiter Artland Christmas Fair. This festive event brings together breath taking surroundings with Christmas shopping. With 26 wonderful artisan gift stalls you shall certainly not be short of options.

Not sure what you need? Then head to a place that has choice, Livingston. The fabulous Designer Outlet and The Centre offer hundreds of different stores ranging from Chocolatiers and Jewellers to designer and high street clothing.

Santa

Guess who is coming to Almond Valley this December? Here are some clues: He sees you when you’re sleeping and knows when you are awake, he wears lots of red clothing and has quite a large belly… It’s SANTA!

He’ll be welcoming young visitors and handing out some early Christmas presents every weekend and during the week from 21 - 24 at Almond Valley. Much of Almond Valley will be decorated for the season and there will be a special chance to make your own Christmas decorations in the museum.  He will also be at Five Sisters Zoo meeting kids every evening of the month as part of their Illuminations event and also each weekend during the day.

New Year

As the month draws to a close as does the year of 2017 and Howden Park intend on seeing it out with a bang! Their annual Hogmanay Party Ceilidh returns this year to bring in the bells with live music being performed by the popular ceilidh band, The Gallivanters. Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival, traditional (or vegetarian) haggis, neeps and tatties at 9.30pm and sparkling wine at midnight. A truly fabulous start to the New Year!

With so many amazing events on this December it is a must to visit West Lothian. We Ho-Ho-Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year.
