Winchburgh Canal Walk

Head west towards Linlithgow from the Tally Ho Hotel, and soon after turn right before bridge to join canal towpath.

Turn right and continue along the towpath until you reach the 7th bridge from start of the walk (no. 39 on the keystone). Walk under this bridge and a few yards further on, turn sharp right on to a small path which takes you up and right over the bridge.

Continue on a small footpath, passing Philpstoun Shale Bing on the left. Walking through a metal gate, continue along the path to cottages at Threemiletown and turn left at the main road (B9080). Walk along the pavement on this main road for approximately one mile and turn right at the sign for Glendevon after a petrol station.

Walk down this road past farm buildings and a pond. At the end of this road turn left and walk through the pretty village of Faucheldean. Turning left at the end of this road, cross a bridge and head up towards Winchburgh’s town centre and back to the Tally Ho Hotel.
