Midhope Castle, otherwise known as Lallybroch, has recently been rated the UK's second most talked about filming location in an analysis of visitor reviews.
Midhope Castle, located on the Hopetoun House estate in West Lothian, has recently gained a worldwide audience from featuring in the hit TV show Outlander. The exterior of the castle was used as the Frasers family home in the show, and has received a growing amount of visitors since.
Research carried out for holidaycottages.co.uk analysed reviews for top locations which featured in TV or Films across the UK, and identified West Lothian's own Midhope Castle as receiving the second highest amount of references to Outlander in reviews - with 84.3% of these featuring a reference to Outlander - narrowly behind St Mary's Church in England which featured in Downton Abbey.
Midhope Castle was rated the highest in Scotland as a result of this by over 30%.
Built over 300 years ago, Hopetoun continues to be the home of the Hope family. Hopetoun was also used as a filming location in the internationally acclaimed Outlander TV program.
