#MyWestLothian - Chris Hoskins - Almondell

We caught up with Chris about their entry to the photography competition to see what inspired them to take the picture.

About the competition

The #MyWestLothian competition was launched to help encourage visitors and locals alike to show what West Lothian means to them. The winner of the competition will receive shopping vouchers for The Centre Livingston and a chance to have their work publicly displayed.

The Centre

The Centre is Scotland’s leading retail destination with over 155 shops and restaurants.

About the entry

When and where did you take the photograph?

I shot this image almost 4 years ago, November 2020. I remember looking out my window, seeing the mist and thinking that Almondell would be looking fantastic in those conditions. With the bridge only being a 15 minute walk from my house, I quickly gathered my photography gear together and headed down to the rapids below the Nasmyth Bridge, knowing they were a good foreground for the bridge. The best of the autumn colours were already done by this point in the year, but 2020 offered so few opportunities to enjoy landscape photography that I was determined to make the most of it!

Where can people see more of your work?
