Have a fun-filled October break!

There are lots of great things to do in West Lothian in October, so with the school holidays fast approaching make sure and get planning so as to squeeze it all in.

Following on from the great success of the Olympics and Paralympics Low Port Centre is offering an exciting October Holiday Week Programme. Lots of activities are offered throughout the week such as sailing, kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking and archery, encouraging kids to discover the joy of sport and the outdoors. Mums and Dads can also join in on some of these great activities in the family weekend courses.

Over the school holidays Potter Around run Arts and Crafts sessions for Children and Parents to do together, there is also still the option to just drop in and paint pottery.

With Halloween fast approaching strange creatures are beginning to emerge from the darkest and scariest corners of Almond Valley. Encounter unearthly creatures on a trail of terror, collect the clues and claim a small prize for your bravery. Join in with creepy crafts and gruesome games, and have a spine-tingling good time from Saturday 13th October until Sunday 28th October.

For those days where you want to keep sheltered why not treat the kids to a day out at The Vue Cinema with great films on this month such as Brave and Paranorman. You can also keep the kids amused for only £1.50 on Saturdays and Sundays with a great variety of family friendly movies.

Eat out with a twist, eat from a choice of great value meals and play 1 or 2 games of bowling for under £15 per person. A great evening out any day of the week for all the family at Deer Park Golf and Country Club.

Both Livingston Designer Outlet and The Centre are bursting with the latest Autumn styles and the best brands in fashion, sportswear, footwear and interiors. Make a day of it and shop til you drop, stopping for a bite to eat in one of their great choices of restaurants.

Keep the kids active and entertained during the school holidays with West Lothian Leisure’s extensive kids programme. With activities for all ages kids will not get bored! Have a look at the October Holiday Programme to see what’s on offer!

There is a wealth of outdoor activities you can do across West Lothian throughout the year. There are a number of great cycling routes and 3 beautiful country parks which each offer a wide range of facilities and activities for all.
