4 ex-circus lions Arrive at Five Sisters Zoo!

The zoo has been working hard to construct a new facility for the lions with months of planning and construction work to create a brand new two acre enclosure comprising of a large natural outdoor area with rocks, waterfall, pool and platform areas and a large, heated indoor den area.

Brian & Shirley Curran, owners of the Five Sisters Zoo are extremely grateful to everyone who has donated to the appeal:

This has been an amazing and challenging journey, but we are extremely proud to have accomplished everything we set out to do and are forever grateful for the huge support from both near and far of the thousands of supporters who have helped make this possible

Nicola and Garreth Wood helped with the final push by donating £10,000 to the appeal along with many other companies including Almond Housing, Montana Home Care Ltd., 356 Media, Paradise Island Adventure Golf, Leah International, Forkers, Inprysis, Best Western Hilcroft Hotel, Slorach Wood Architects, Geneology Worldwide and many local companies helped by supplying material either free or at a reduced cost.

Hundreds of supporters held sponsored events including sky dives, wing walks, haircuts, cycles, walks, runs, cake sales, dressing up events, bag packing and also by sponsoring name boards and plaques at the Zoo itself.
