This Weekend in West Lothian


Theres lots of fun activities going on across the West Lothian area this weekend! From Pampered Chocolate Workshops with Gooey Events, to a Water Safari in Linlithgow. 

The Hamiltons at Blackess

In 1572 dashing young Lord Claud Hamilton has seized Blackness Castle on behalf of Mary Queen of Scots following her forced abdication. Holding it against all comers and sallying forth with his men visiting retribution on her enemies.

Come and meet one of Hamilton’s men and hear about siege warfare in the sixteenth century. Get hands on and feel the weight of the arms and armour of the time and take the opportunity to brush up on your pike, sword and buckler skills.

Water Safari in Linlithgow

Discover Linlithgow Loch by Canadian canoe with the assistance of fully qualified instructors. Experience a different view of the Palace, loch and its wildlife from duck level. Suitable for beginners or those with some paddling experience. Families and groups of two or three can share a canoe. Not suitable for children under 8 years old. 8-16 must be acompanied by an adult. 

Meet at Low Port reception, bringing a change of clothes. Booking essential.

Pampered Chocolate Workshops

In this workshop children will create and apply their own edible chocolate face mask.

They create a chocolate ‘pizza’ and have lots of fun, best enjoyed with a friend or two! Suitable for children over the age of 6 years who enjoy getting messy!

Den Building Adventures

Join the tribe for daring daily adventures exploring some of the wildest and most remote corners of the Almond Valley site.

Build your shelter, set up camp, forage for food, keep a lookout for wild animals, and learn how to survive in the wild for at least half an hour.

Fun in the sun this summer at Almond Valley!


If you've seen enough of the sun, JumpStation are open all weekend with Club Night on Friday 7-9pm at just £12pp.
