Hopetoun House is Scotland's finest stately home and is a place of outstanding natural beauty and has been home to the Hope family since 1699.
Explore the historic ancestral home, the 150 acres of gardens surrounding the house, the magnificent architecture or relax in the licensed tearoom. As a five star Visitor Attraction Hopetoun is the perfect location to visit, take part in outdoor activities or as an exceptional hospitality venue.
Hopetoun will be a familiar sight for Outlander viewers as it was used as the home of the Duke of Sandringham. Explore the sumptuous rooms where the Duke enjoyed spending time.
On the Hopetoun Estate you will also find Midhope Castle - which was known as Lallybroch, the Frasers family home. The exterior of the castle is in good condition but the interior is derelict. As Midhope is located on a private part of the Estate, please make contact with Hopetoun in advance to ensure you are able to view the Castle on the day you are visiting.
It is situated only 30 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh and 15 minutes from Edinburgh airport.
