Scotrail services make it easy to reach West Lothian by train from across the Scotland, and further afield.
Uphall, Livingston North and Bathgate are on the same line connecting visitors from Edinburgh main line stations in the East to Glasgow Queen Street in the West. There are four trains an hour and link you directly to Edinburgh Park where you can acccess the tram to take you directly to Edinburgh Airport. Visitors can also travel onwards directly from Uphall, Livingston North and Bathgate to Helensburgh Central and Milngavie.
Livingston South offers a direct rail link to Edinburgh main line stations and Glasgow Central, via Shotts with trains every 30 minutes.
Linlithgow offers a direct route between Edinburgh main line stations and Glasgow Queen Street, via Falkirk High every 30 minutes. From Linlithgow, you can also reach Dunblane via Stirling. A twice daily service also operates to Markinch, connecting Linlithgow directly with Fife. By train, it only takes 20 minutes to reach Linlithgow from the centre of Edinburgh - with services operating from early morning to late at night.
