Pottishaw Trout Fishery

Pottishaw Fishery is a family run business providing high-quality fly fishing for Stocked Brown and Rainbow Trout based on a policy of 100% catch and release.

With 6.5 acres and a maximum of 17 bank anglers allowed at any one time there is plenty of space for anglers to move around should they wish and the almost oval shape of the fishery ensures that wind direction is never a problem for casting- great for less experienced visitors and beginners.

The bank has been left in its natural state with areas of reeds and low scrub, this encourages fish to come in very close when feeding. In addition float tubing is encouraged and two float tubes are allowed on the water at a time.

The catch and release policy allows fish to thrive here, with fish feeding and behaving naturally, resulting in very strong and well-conditioned trout which fight long and hard when hooked.

At Pottishaw Tea and Coffee is provided free on request and at the weekends hot food is available. A spacious cabin with a verand and fire is available for anglers to relax in.

• Adults Day (over 4 hours) £16.00, Session (4 hours or less) £12.00, Juniors (under 16 yrs) £6.00 per 4 hours

Opening Times

9am until dusk, with the exception of the months of June and July when the fishery will close to non-season ticket holders at 10pm

Coming from Edinburgh go onto the M8, exit at Jct. 4 onto the A801. 

Carry on round the roundabout ( 3rd exit) and under the bridge bearing left to the next roundabout.

Go over this and up the rise (ignore the minor road on the left signposted Pottishaw) until the next roundabout then left onto the A706.  Carry on down the straight and the fishery is on the left just past a layby.
