A nice, gentle walk which begins at one of our most popular family attractions. Distance: 4mls / 6.5kms
Starting at Frazer Road public car park, close to the Simpson Parkway bridge, walk towards the railway gates and follow the right hand path past the animal enclosures.
At the fork in the path by a road bridge, walk up and over the bridge. Turn right into Fraser Road and right again and follow the River Almond pathway which is signposted. Continue along this path and take a left before the path crosses a ford in the river. Cross a wooden footbridge and take the right hand path onto the Easter Breich path towards Seafield and Blackburn (signposted).
At the metal footbridge turn left and take the Westwood path but do not cross the bridge. Pass through converted farm buildings and on reaching the main road (B7015) immediately turn left onto a small path that runs parallel to the road. Pass a pond and follow the path back towards the footbridge. Walk back along towards a pond (Almond Pond East – look for kingfishers, sandpipers and Dippers. An ideal spot for a coffee).
Follow the path under and back up over the bridge and back down the other side to continue back to the Heritage Centre.
