Now you can meet face-to-face the birds that you’ve only heard as a distant Twit-Twoo. From the giant Siberian Eagle Owl to the tiny Scops Owl you can learn about their habits and habitats and how to help in their conservation. Let these awesome creatures inspire you to make a difference.

By car: By car: Leave the M8 at J4A and follow the Brown Signs to the Scottish Owl Centre (EH47 0AD). You’ll find us on the B7066 halfway between Whitburn and Harthill. Turn in to Polkemmet Country Park when you see the Brown Sign to Scottish Owl Centre.
You can park in either of the car parks available, either directly beside the centre or in the overspill car park.
By bus: Local bus routes through Whitburn and Harthill directly pass the Park entrance.
From Livingston, you can take First Scotland East service 22 (Livingston– Harthill service).
From Bathgate, you can get the No. 21 (Fauldhouse – Edinburgh service) and change on to the No. 701 (Livingston – Wishaw service).
To access the Owl Centre you head through the main archway and into reception. The play area is on your left hand side.

The Bridge 19-40 Union Canal Society is a small and friendly organisation on the Union Canal in West Lothian. Our boat trips are run entirely by our volunteer members and will take you along part of the stretch of the canal between Bridge 19, east of Broxburn, and Bridge 40, to the west of Philpstoun.
